Projects
I love making and fixing things. I spent enough time volunteering in bike shops to call myself a bike mechanic in a previous life, but now I enjoy building tech products that (1) connect people better socially (I study social cohesion, as you can see!) or (2) support missions and social values I believe in. I love elegant design and I’m quite obsessed with it.
Here are some that are open source and free to use. If you have any ideas, and would love to collaborate, feel free to send me an email.
Feb 2026·Cambridge Screens
I made a tiny site that pulls showtimes from three art-house theaters in Cambridge. My friends and I used to sneak off to these places during our first PhD year. Some of the best days I had. We've since scattered, but I hope someone catches something good.
Oct 2024·WhispHER
My brilliant friend Teodora Szasz and I built this for the Google She Builds AI Hackathon, which challenged participants to develop AI-powered solutions addressing gender equity as outlined in UN Sustainable Development Goal 5.
Millions of women lack access to vital health information due to societal norms. WhispHER is a Gemini-powered chatbot accessible through WhatsApp that provides a confidential, judgment-free space for young women to ask questions and receive scientifically backed answers about sexual health, menstrual care, and overall well-being. By offering reliable information anonymously, WhispHER is designed to break through cultural taboos that have long kept girls in the dark.
Sep 2022·MiiE NLP
MiiE NLP is a one-stop shop for social scientists to use natural language processing techniques to analyze text. We built it to make NLP and computational content analysis accessible to researchers with zero or limited Python experience, and we hope it helps catalyze new research in the social and computational social sciences.
